FRESH WATER FISHING REPORT  (June 21st, 2023)

To purchase a fresh water licence go HERE

 Fraser River-

The Fraser river is transitioning into freshet at the moment. The river will be at its highest point over the next two months. Therefore, fishing can be slow from shore. Sturgeon fishing is still viable at this time, but having the right bait and fishing in the right water are critical for success. Finding slower water and fishing baits such as eulachon and salmon will yield the best results.

Chilliwack/Vedder River

The river re-opens July 1st for Summer red Chinook.

Chehalis/Harrison

Open as of July 1'st

Capilano-

The early "blueback" coho should be entering the system around this time. These coho are typically small but make for some enjoyable fishing at this time of year. May - late June makes for some of the best fishing. Furtheremore, Bait, beads, and blades are all proven methods for these coho.

Squamish

The river is extremly high due du freshet.

Local lakes-

The local lakes have been stocked and fishing is hot! Rice Lake, Green Timbers, Como, Lafarge, and Browning are all good options. These fish typcially like powerbait and worms.

 Interior Lakes-

Interior lake fishing is coming into full swing. Lakes are icing off and fishing is hot! Chronomid fishing is the best option during this time. Keep an eye on what lakes are "turning over" during this time because this will result in poor fishing. Lower elevation lakes will yield the best results during this time.
